The American pianist and music pedagogue, Hans Boepple, was a student of renowned American pianist Sidney Foster. He obtained both his Bachelor of Music & Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from Indiana University as well as an honorary Performer’s Certificate. He has received numerous performance prizes, most notably First Prize at the International J.S. Bach Competition in Washington D.C. He is a prize-winner at the Kosciuszko Chopin in New York, the MTNA National competitions and a six-time winner of the Coleman Chamber Music Award (Los Angeles).
Hans Boepple debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at age 10 and continues to be the featured soloist with orchestras of distinction. Concerto performances include critically acclaimed collaborations with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, Denver Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony, Metropolitan Opera House Orchestra, Santa Rosa Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Napa Symphony, and Santa Cruz Symphony. He has collaborated with eminent conductors that include Zubin Mehta, Johnny Green, Minas Christian, Dennis de Coteau, and Corrick Brown.
This highly regarded performance career spanning more than fifty years also earned Hans Boepple a place on the Steinway International Artist Roster. A popular guest artist on concert series across the USA, his live performances have been broadcast by National Public Radio, Voice of America and Südwestfunk. Recitals include respected series such as Carmel Music Society, The Maestro Foundation & IU Jacobs School of Music.
A former full-time member of the piano faculty at the Indiana Univerrsity School of Music in Bloomington (1974-1978), Hans Boepple has been Professor of Music at Santa Clara University (California) since 1978. In demand as national convention artist, author, judge, lecturer, and master teacher. He balances his demanding performance activities with those of a dedicated and successful teacher. His students have been awarded more than 175 state, national, and international awards. He currenty lives in San Jose, California. |
