The Dutch Choral conductor, Dennis Broeders, studied piano and choir conducting at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Arnhem ( 2010-2014), where he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree, with singing as a minor. He received lessons there from Frank Peters, Maria van Nieukerken, Klaas Stok and Marjan Kuiper, among others; and obtained his Master of Music degree from ArtEZ Zwolle (2014-2016). He attended the Kurt Thomas Course twice and then a follow-up course in choir conducting at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jos Vermunt (2016-2017) and orchestral conducting with Bas Pollard. He is currently being coached as a singer by Hetty Gehring.
Dennis Broeders was conductor of Groenekans Muzekoor (September 2011-March 2013), Stukoz in Zwolle (September 2014-June 2016), Kamerkoor d'Allure (January 2022-March 2023), Cantorij Arkelse Koepelkerk (September 2017-March 2019), Zang- en Oratoriumvereniging Cantarella (November 2018-November 2022); and is the permanent conductor of Ensemble Illustre (since April 2017), the Leids Projectkoor (since June 2019) and the WSKOV (Wageningen Student Choir and Orchestra). As a substitute and repetiteur he has worked with many choirs, for example: Consensus Vocalis, Nederlands Studenten Kamerkoor (September 2017-March 2019) and Kamerkoor Venus. He also teaches at Dirigentenwerkplaats Utrecht (since September 2021).
In 2017-2018 Dennis Broeders followed a traineeship at the Nederlands Kamerkoor (September 2017-March 2018), which focused on ensemble singing, concept development and production. This resulted in the show Dennis Broeders, which was programmed at Wonderfeel, among others. He also enjoys singing in (semi)professional ensembles, such as the Kurt Thomas Chamber Choir and La Sfera Armoniosa. He currently lives in Culemborg. |
