The Dane trumpeter, Michael Brydenfelt, had his initial training on the trumpet at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen. He continued his studies privately with Bo Nilsson in Sweden, followed by brief studies with David Hickman in Banff, Edward Tarr in Basel, as well as Philip Smith and Chris Gekker in New York. He then traveled to Paris to join the class of Pierre Thibaud at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris. Upon the completion of his studies in Paris, he was granted the 'Premiere-Premiere Prix a l'unarnite for solo trumpet.
Throughout the past few years. Michael Brydenfelt has recieved an impressive collection of awards for his fine performances, including 1st Prize in the Danish National Trumpet Guild Competition; 4th Prize in the 44th International Music Competition of the Prague Spring Festival; 1st Prize in the Euro-ITG Competition for young artists; 3rd Prize, as well as the Prize for Exceptional Performance, in the 18th International Concours pour Instruments au Vent in Toulon, France; as well as 1st Prize in Bernard Soustrot's 'Prestige de la Trompette' Competition in Alsace, France. Home in Denmark, he has been honoured with many awards, including the esteemed Gladsaxe Music Prize and the Carl Nielsen grant, as well as a special soloist award from the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
