Elisabeth Buscher (Soprano)

Born: USA

The American soprano and voice teacher, Elisabeth (Eby) Buscher, obtained her Bachelor of Music Education degree and her K-12 teaching certification from the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College with (August 2015-May 2019); and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2019-2021), where she studied with Dr. Robert Wells.

Elisabeth Buscher has experience performing in a variety of ensembles and styles, including opera, vocal jazz, Afro-Cuban percussion, and marching band. Elizabeth enjoyed touring with the Gettysburg College Choir each spring, where she was able to perform and do outreach all over the eastern seaboard, from Maine to South Carolina, as well as Puerto Rico.

Elisabeth Buscher loves to travel, and her voice has made her fortunate to be able to perform in Italy, London, and Puerto Rico. She has had the opportunity to study Italian opera and language with two vocal performance programs in Italy: Orvieto Musica in Orvieto, and Si Parla, Si Canta in Urbania (summer 2018). She has sung with Piedmont Opera, Opera Carolina, Greensboro Opera, and Bel Canto Company. Recent performances include Nella in Gianni Schicchi, First Tourierre in Suor Angelica, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Filia in Jephte, and a soloist in Haydn's Nelson Mass and George Frideric Handel's Messiah.

With over a decade of collaborative piano experience, Elisabeth Buscher enjoys accompanying for musical theatre productions, auditions, choir rehearsals, voice lessons, and worship services. She has experience running her own hour-long weekly radio show on 91.1 WZBT Gettysburg radio, as well as taking secretarial notes for stage productions and recording sessions. She has worked as an intern with the Gettysburg Children's Choir under direction of Dr. Brent Talbot, where she worked with the choral music library, led the group through the warmup and rehearsal process, and conducted the choir in their annual winter concert. She has had opportunities to conduct for high school choir and lead rehearsals as a student-teaching intern. She also taught voice lessons to all ages through the Community Arts Collaborative at the UNCG School of Visual and Performing Arts and accompanied voice students at UNCG. She has been Elementary Music Teacher at The Piedmont School in High Point, North Carolina (August 2021-May 2022); Music Director at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Lexington, North Carolina (January-August 2022); Voice Teacher at Stagelights Theater Company in Greensboro, North Carolina (August 2021-December 2023); Private Music Teacher at her own studio in Greensboro (since June 2020).

Elisabeth Buscher currently sings and is section leader with Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina (since Novembrer 2019) and enjoys being an accompanist for the Piedmont Triad. She recently joined the Winston-Salem Choral Artists (Director: Christopher Gilliam). When not making music, she works as an Admissions Counselor for High Point University in High Point, North Carolina (since August 2023).
