The Italian organist, harpsichordist, musical director and composer, Donatella Busetto, obtained her Scientific High-School Diploma at Liceo Flaminio in Vittorio Veneto; then graduated in piano with honors from the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice. She perfected her skills with Giorgio Lovato and Michele Campanella. She studied organ at the Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine with M. Fontebasso and devoted herself to the study of the Baroque repertoire earning his degree in harpsichord in the class of M.V. Guidi at the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice. At the same time she attended Classical Conducting courses at the European Conducting Academy in Vicenza with Maestro Romolo Gessi and Lior Shambadal, and the Conducting Course relating to the Baroque repertoire with Maestro Gianluca Capuano in Milan.
Donatella Busetto's activity as an instrumentalist has seen her engaged as a soloist and continuo player in various ensembles, collaborating with various ensembles, including I Solisti di Mosca, adopting a historically informed approach with regard to the choice of instruments used and the performance techniques of the various eras. She is founder of the Barocco Europeo and, in 1993, of her own Ensemble, the Cenacolo Musicale, with which she has promoted various and original concerts and shows. She has performed concerts in Italy and abroad in prestigious festivals. She is also the founder and Artistic Director of the Festival Musicantica, and the creator of numerous projects and productions of shows that have as their object the recovery of little-known repertoires in multidisciplinary dialogue with other expressive arts such as theater, dance, multimedia arts..
In 2016 Donatella Busetto released the CD "If with frequent stille" for Arcana, Outhere, on a duet repertoire, with the collaboration of Sara Mingardo, and some of the best voices of the International Seminars, obtaining flattering awards from specialized critics, at important Italian and international magazines.
Interested in composing choral pieces, in November 2017 Donatella Busetto was among the winners of the Composition Competition for Children's Choirs organized by Feniarco. The pieces were subsequently published in the last two volumes of the "Giro Giro Canto" series by Edizioni Feniarco. In 2001, she won 2nd Prize in the Composition Competition for Primary Schools organized by CLAPS of Pordenone, obtaining publication in the collection "Giro Giro Canto" published in 2008 by Pizzicato. In November 2020 she won the new Composition Competition for Children's Choirs, promoted by Feniarco and dedicated to the figure of Gianni Rodari, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of his birth. The edition of the new volume of "Giro Giro Canto" was published in 2021. Some of her compositions for various groups are registered with SIAE.
