The Czech soprano, Lenka Cafourková Ďuricová, graduated in singing from the School of Arts in Uničov. She was accepted to the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in 2002 to the class of MgA. Petr Julicek to study singing. During her studies she played the main part in J. Haydn's opera La Canterina and Bellinda part in Henry Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas. In 2002 and 2003 she took part in the Bohuslav Martinu’s Song Competition in Prague, where she won the 3rd and 1st prize and the award for the Best Song Artist of Bohuslav Martinu. In the years 2008-2013 she studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Professor Natálie Romanová-Achaladze. She finished her studies with graduate parts of Cinderella in the Bohuslav Martinu's Comedy on the Bridge, Angelica in Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica and she graduated her Master’s degree with the main part of Mařenka in Bedrich Smetana's comedy opera The Bartered Bride. She also participated in master-classes of Peter Dvorsky, Regina Renzow-Jürgens and Gabriela Beňačková in 2010 and 2011. As early as in 2010, still a student, she was invited to perform as a soloist at a prestigious concert for young talents in Vienna entitled "Morgenstern".
Lenka Cafourková acted externally at the National Theatre in Brno for two years (Czech fairytale Papageno plays the magic flute based on the famous W.A. Mozart's opera; Destiny by L. Janacek) and in 2013 she made her debut as Mařenka in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride at the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc, where she later played the part of Vendulka in the Smetana’s opera The Kiss in February 2015. In October 2015, she played the part of Nina Valencia/Indolenda in Bohuslav Martinů's opera The Three Wishes. In 2014, she appeared as La Folie in the French Baroque composer Jean Philipp Rameau's opera Plataea at the Znojmo Music Festival (Czech premiere, filmed by the Czech Television) and she was also nominated for this part to the wider selection of the Thalia awards. She returned to the same festival in 2016 as Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's opera Don Giovanni alongside Adam Plachetka. Since 2013, she has cooperated with the Czech Ensemble Baroque.
Lenka Cafourkova is devoted to opera repertoire as well as to light opera/operetta, songs or solo concert recitals. She frequently appears in concerts and recitals. Since 2011 she has collaborated with the Czech Ensemble Baroque (specializing in period-instrument interpretation), since 2015 with Ensemble Inégal (Director: Adam Viktora) and since 2017 also with a Baroque orchestra Collegium 1704 (Director: Václav Luks) based in Prague. In 2017 she made her first appearance at the Prague Spring festival. Her major artistic credits include a successful concert tour in China (2016). |
