Laura Cherici (Soprano)

Born: Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy

The Italian soprano, Laura Cherici, made her debut at a young age at the Teatro Regio in Turin in the role of Micaela (the same role with which, in 1956, Mirella Freni made her debut). Since then she sang Susanna in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, also at Teatro Regio, in 1989 and at the same theatre in 2003 was Stella Kowalski in a production conducted by Previn. Her repertoire is quite broad and varied, ranging from Georges Bizet to Tennessee Williams and from classical opera to first performances of contemporary works such as Cyrano e La lupa by Tutino.

Laura Cherici has taught singing at the Conservatorio G. Martucci - Salerno (2015); Conservatorio Niccolò Piccinni in Bari (2017); Conservatorio di musica Gesualdo da Venosa - Potenza (February 2020-2021); Conservatorio G.B. Martini Bologna (February 2022); Conservatorio Cesare Pollini in Padua, Italy. Among the singers who have studied with her and/or attended her master-classes: Cristina Fanelli (Soprano). She currently lives in Lives in Bologna, Italy.
