The Italian soprano, Cristina Fanelli, studied lyric singing at Conservatorio di Musica "Niccolò Piccinni" di Bari (2010-2017), studying and graduating in March 2017 at the Three-Year Course in Operatic Singing and in March 2019 at the Two-Year Course in Operatic Singing, under the guidance of Maestro Domenico Colaianni. She improveed by participating in master-classes on vocal technique and the practice of Baroque music with: Barbara Frittoli, Vincent Scalera, Laura Cherici, Franco Pavan.
In 2016-2017, Cristina Fanelli attended the Accademia "Rodolfo Celletti" and at the Festival della Valle D’Itria in Martina Franca (June-August 2017) she debuted in the following roles: in the role of Ricciardetta in G. Paisiello's Don Chisciotte della Mancha with Maestro Ettore Papadia and in the roles of Ingrata and Ninfa in C. Monteverdi's Il Ballo delle Ingrate and Lamento della Ninfa conducted by Maestro Antonio Greco. In 2018, she continueed with the following debuts at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in the role of Venus in Marco da Gagliano's opera Dafne conducted by Maestro Federico Maria Sardelli (June 2018) and in Japan at the Festival Hokutopia in Tokyo the roles of Fortuna and Venus in C. Monteverdi's Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria, conducted by Maestro Ryo Terakado.
At the same time, Cristina Fanecarried concert activities ranging from chamber music to contemporary repertoire and recorded a CD for MV Cremona entitled "Andrea Amati Carlo IX, Le origine del violino" performing Baroque arias with Federico Guglielmo, Davide Pozzi and Diego Cantalupi; for the Puglia Sound label the CD "Hieronymus Montisardui" with the Terra d'Otranto ensemble; and for the Alpha label the CD "Legrenzi: La morte del Cor Penitente" with Ensemble Masques conducted by Olivier Fortin. She has also sung with Ensemble Mare Nostrum (July 2019), Vox Poetica Ensemble (Director: Alessandro Quarta; November 2023), La Divina Armonia (Director: Lorenzo Ghielmi; October 2022), Concerto Italiano (Director: Rinaldo Alessandrini; July 2022). She currently lives in Bari, Italy. |
