The German baritone, Lars Conrad, received his First singing lessons from Tjark Baumann. Already during school he studied as a junior student at Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Markus Köhler. After graduation he moved to the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig to study with Berthold Schmid. Since 2018, he is studying with Rudolf Piernay at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Master-classes with Roman Trekel, Christine Schäfer and Peter Schreier complete his training. He also worked privately with Michael Volle. He gained his first stage experience in university productions and at the theaters Görlitz, Leipzig and Dessau. He is a laureate of the Helmut-German Song Competition in Vienna.
Lars Conrad's concert repertoire ranges from Heinrich Schütz to Romanticism. Particular emphasis is placed on the works of J.S. Bach. His great love is for Lieder singing. Here he received suggestions from Manuel Lange, Alexander Schmalcz and Eric Schneider. He is a regular collaborator with Eric Schneider. He is a member of the Sächsischer Kammerchor (Director: Fabian Enders), and currently lives in Leipzig, Germany. |
