Doha Baroque Ensemble (Baroque Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: 2011 - Doha, Qatar

The Doha Baroque Ensemble was founded in 2011 by professional musicians and is the first and only ensemble of its kind in the Gulf Region. These musicians are Baroque music specialists, experts in historical Baroque performance practice and they play on actual Baroque instruments.

In addition to giving lively performances in the style of this period, the Ensemble’s goal is to develop dialogue between the oriental and occidental cultures, co-operating with local Arab musicians. This opens up very interesting fields of fusion and cross-over projects.

With the concert series “Baroque in Qatar” the Doha Baroque Ensemble delivers since 2014 every year an exciting season of Baroque Music to the audience in Qatar. Together with the Qatar Concert Choir and international soloists the Doha Baroque Ensemble performs Operas, Oratorios and chamber music as a great celebration of Baroque music.

Doha Baroque Ensemble is Member of Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
