The German conductor, Ron-Dirk Entleutner, received at the age of 4 his first musical education as part of a sponsorship project founded by Kurt Masur. From 1985 to 1994 he was a member of the Thomanerchor Leipzig under the Thomaskantors Hans-Joachim Rotzsch and Georg Christoph Biller. Here he gained first experience in conducting as a choir prefect. He studied conducting with Professor Georg Christoph Biller and Professor Gerd Bahner and singing with Professor Dirk Schmidt at the Kirchenmusikalischen Institut der Hochschule für Musik und Theater »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« in Leipzig. In addition, he participated in master-classes with Max Frey, Eric Ericson, Helmuth Rilling, Philip Ledger and Uwe Gronostay and received choirmaster scholarships from the Verbandes Deutscher Konzert-Chöre (Association of German Concert Choirs) and the Deutschen Musikrates (German Music Council).
Ron-Dirk Entleutner founded his first ensemble, Amici Musicae, Chor & Orchester, Leipzig in October 1994. As a well-known Leipzig ensemble, Amici Musicae performs in concerts and radio and CD productions all over Germany (including at Max-Reger-Tage Hamm, Bachfest Leipzig 1999-2015, Thomaskirche Leipzig, Gewandhaus zu Leipzig) and furthermore in Denmark, Hungary, Hong Kong, the Azores and in the USA. In addition, Amici Musicae emerged as the winner of prestigious competitions. In 1998 Ron-Dirk Entleutner founded the Neuen Kammerchor Leipzig and in 2000 the accompanying instrumental ensemble Cappella Accademia. Engagements as guest conductor HAVE led him to Switzerland and South Africa.
Ron-Dirk Entleutner's musical work is influenced by two emphases, the works of J.S. Bach and rarely performed choral symphonic music. Since the summer of 2000, he has been conductor and Artistic Director of the Jugendsinfonieorchesters at the Musikschule Leipzig »Johann Sebastian Bach« and has also worked there as a vocal pedagogue and ensemble director. Concerts with the orchestra take place regularly in the Great Hall of the Leipzig Gewandhaus. The ensemble has won multiple national awards and has performed successfully under his direction in Italy, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Canada and the USA. In addition, the orchestra followed in 2005 an invitation from the Foreign Office to the festivities "100 years of German-Ethiopian friendship treaty" and in 2015 to "10 years twinning Addis Ababa - Leipzig" to Ethiopia.
At the beginning of the summer semester 2007, Ron-Dirk Entleutner was appointed University Music Director went to the Universität Koblenz-Landau. In addition to teaching at the Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Musikpädagogik, he took over the management of the Universitätschor, the Junge Symphonieorchester Koblenz and founded the UNIvokalensemble Koblenz, Cappella Accademia, Campus Brass and Triple C.
In addition to his versatile concert activities Ron-Dirk Entleutner is in demand as a lecturer. In particular in the USA he conducts workshops for choir and ensemble conductors as well as interpretation courses. In addition, he is appointed as a juror to competitions. In the summer of 2015, he took over the artistic direction of the Landesjugendchores Sachsen. He currently lives in Leipzig, Germany. |
