The Italian mandolin player, Davide Ferella, gradueted in mandolin from the Conservatorio "A. Casella" in L'Aquila under the guidance of Fabio Giudice. In April 2016 he majored with full marks from the Conservatory of Brescia with Dorina Frati, a soloist of international renown and first mandolin at Milan's Teatro alla Scala. From the same Conservatory, he also majored in chamber music, summa cum laude, with Luca Morassutti.
Specialized in performing an original instruments (five-and six-course mandolins, Neapolitan Baroque mandolin, Brescian mandolin), Davide Ferella has performed as a soloist at numerous Italian festivals. He has collaborated with the Teatro alla Scala and with ensembles such as IVirtuosi Italiani. In 2015, he published for Lilium Editions a collection of four Concertos by J.S. Bach transcribed for mandolin and orchestra. For the same publisher, he also edited the revision of Carlo Arrigoni's Sonate a Mandolino e Basso. |
