Coro de Garage (Choir)

Founded: 2014 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Coro de Garage is an independent choral group, founded in 2014 by its current director, Demián Sielecki. Its repertoire is made up of music from different times and places: Composers of the 16th / 17th century, such as Monteverdi and Victoria, of the 19th century such as Johannes Brahms or Josef Rheinberger, various composers of the 20th / 21st century, such as Paul Hindemith, Messiaen and Whitacre; in addition to a great focus on the music of J.S. Bach (cantatas and motets).

The group has been performing in different places in the city of Buenos Aires. Churches (Iglesia Sueca, Santa Julia, San Bernardo Abad, Santa Clara de Asis, Parroquia todos Los Santos, among others), temples (Comunidad Or Israel) and cultural spaces (Museo Santa Felicitas, Estudio Kalmar Stokoe, Peña "La casa está en desorden", among others). The choir has also made tours to San Antonio de Areco, Villa Lía, San Pedro and San Nicolás, giving concerts in the main churches and cultural spaces of those places. In 2019 the choir was invited by the Academia Bach de Buenos Aires to perform the series of concerts "cantatas sacras para meditar", together with Mario Videla, Soledad de la Rosa, Andrés Spiller and Pablo Saraví, (among others), in the Santuario Jesús Sacramentado, in the Basílica San Antonio de Padua and in the Parroquia San Benito Abad.

On the other hand, the choir performs different jobs. In 2018 it recorded music for the commercial for 7up without sugar, in addition to recording the choral piece for the short Shakti, by director Martín Rejtman.
