The Spanish tenor, Marc García, began his musical training in the city where he was born, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, at the age of 9, first with the classical guitar and then with singing. From a very young age, he became involved in the choral and early music world, which made him decide to begin his studies for a Higher Degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Interpretation at the Liceu Superior Music Conservatory (September 2018-2022), with the teacher Marta Mathéu as tutor. He is also a graduate of the ESMUC in the Victoria of the Angels master's degree, and is currently working with Amand Hekkers, a member of the vocal department of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. At the same time, he graduated in History from the University of Barcelona. He recently made his debut at the LIFE Victoria Festival in the Life New Artists category. He has been awarded a scholarship by the Life Victoria Foundation, receiving master-classes from Sholto Kynoch, Simon Lepper, Stéphane Degout, Wolfram Rieger, among other celebrities in the field of lied.
Marc García has performed as a soloist in J.S. Bach's Cantatas BWV 131 and BWV 108 with the Bach Collegium Barcelona (Director: Pau Jorquera), and has extensive experience in the Italian madrigal, especially by Claudio Monteverdi. He has worked with some of the best directors on the local and international scene, with notable names such as Franco Fagioli, Christoph Siebert, Sir Simon Rattle, Simon Halsey, Pablo Mielgo, Victor Pablo Pérez, Luis Vilamajó, Mireia Barrera, Pedro Luis Biosca. |
