The German conductor and music pedagogue, Joachim Harder, studied in Hannover and Vienna.
From 1973 to 1979 Joachim Harder was conductor at the opera houses in Köln, Hagen and Münster. From 1980 to 1983 he was Chief Conductor of the Concepción Symphony Orchestra (Chile), during this time he also performed in Argentina and Ecuador. With his return to Germany he devoted himself intensively to youth orchestras like the Studentenorchester der Universität Münster, Jungen Kammerorchester NRW, Landesjugendorchester Berlin, Landesjugendorchester Niedersachsen, as well as Jungen Deutsche Philharmonie. He has undertaken concert tours throughout Europe and to Japan. In addition, he has performed as conductor with numerous European orchestras. In 2010 he was invited to Taiwan to conduct a performance of Die Fledermaus.
Since 1991 Joachim Harder is Professor of Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. He conducted master classes in Spain, Yugoslavia and Italy. |
