The Slovak tenor, Patrik Horňák, studied at the ed from Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2008-2013), at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Professor Scot Weir (2014-2017) and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Professor Teru Yoshihara. In 2021 he completed his master’s degree in singing at the opera school there. With studying singing, he completed a master's degree in clarinet at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava (2013). He received further impulses from master-classes with Margreet Honig, Lothar Odinius, Rainer Trost and Bo Skovhus. He is a scholarship holder of the New Culture – program KLASSIK 2021.
At the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava Patrik Horňák sang Sandrino in Giovanni Paisiello's Il Re Teodore in Venezia and Belmonte in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Seraglio. He made his debut in New Scenes III at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He made his debut in 2019 as Ferrando at the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte and as Toni Reischmann in Henze's Elegy for Young Lovers. In 2019 and 2021 he sang Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the Cuvilliés Theater in Munich. At the Baden-Baden Easter Festival in 2019 he was heard in the world premiere of Victoria Bond’s opera Clara in the role of Johannes Brahms. In 2020 and 2021 he sang Brighella and Tanzmeister in R. Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, Jaquino in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio and Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Theater Pforzheim. In 2021 he could be heard as Gabriel von Eisenstein in J. Strauss' Fledermaus with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz.
As a concert soloist, Patrik Horňák sang the role of Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) in South Korean Tongyeong conducted by Rolf Beck. In the Berlin Philharmonic he worked as a soloist in Zender's Winterreise and in George Frideric Handel's Messiah and has already sung in J.S. Bach's Passions, J.S. Bach's Easter Oratorio (BWV 249), W.A. Mozart's Requiem and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle.
Patrik Horňák has performed with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Munich Chamber Opera (since July 2019), Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic, Collegium Vocale Gent (since September 2014; Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Schleswig Holstein Music Festival Choir, Rolf Beck Choir Academy, Badische Philharmonie, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Bamberger Symphoniker, Tongyeong Symphony Orchestra, Echo Ensemble, Prague Philharmonia, State Osipov Orchestra etc. He currently lives in Stuttgart, Germany. |
