Alexander Hüttner (Tenor)

Born: Weiden in der Oberpfalz, Bavaria, Germany

The German tenor, Alexander Hüttner, began his training at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in 2007, first with Aud Kjellaug Tesaker, then with Gudrun Volkert and most recently with Andreas Macco and Therese Lindquist. He completed his studies with distinction in 2015.

Since the 2016-2017 season, Alexander Hüttner has been a member of the ensemble of the Salzburger Landestheaters, where he has performed as Frantz in Hoffmanns Erzählungen, Don Curzio in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Josef in Wiener Blut and most recently in the 2022-2023 season as Dr. Blind in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus.

In the 2018 festival summer, Alexander Hüttner took on the role of the boy in Gottfried von Einem's Der Prozess under the direction of HK Gruber. This concert performance was recorded and released in summer 2019 on the Capriccio label. In 2022, he took on the role of the Brabant nobleman in Richard Wagner's Lohengrin at the Salzburg Easter Festival under the direction of Christian Thielemann in the staged version by Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito. He has also sung roles as Gefängniswärter in Hair (Salzburg 2022), Obsthändler in My Fair Lady (Salzburg 2019), Shadid in Kick it like Beckham (Salzburg 2018).

As a member of the Salzburg ensemble BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari), Alexander Hüttner is also interested in the works of the Baroque period. The ensemble not only performs the vocal works of J.S. Bach at home and abroad, but also devotes itself to the entire musical spectrum of Baroque music. The ensemble's most recent CD "Genug" was released on the MDG label, with recordings by J.S. Bach, Johann Schelle, Johann Rudolf Ahle, A. Mahler-Werfel and J. Gruchmann. He also gives concerts at home and abroad with song recitals from Franz Schubert to Ernst Krenek, for example with Lieder by Max Reger at the "Weidener Max Reger Tagen".
