The Swiss soprano, Sara Jäggi, began her musical education with piano studies at the Konservatorium für Musik und Theater Bern. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree as a pianist, she began vocal studies in classical singing at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, subsequently focusing on early music. She got her Master’s degree of early music singing, specializing in German and Italian Baroque repertoire in the Early Music Department of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where her teachers were among others Rita Dams, Jill Feldman, Michael Chance and Peter Kooy. Currently she is coached by Ronald Klekamp.
Her professional activities are varied and include participation in a wide range of genres, including oratorio, chamber music and opera. She is frequently invited by ensembles like Collegium Vocale Gent, Leipziger Barockorchester, De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, Le Concert Lorrain, Sette Voci and Accademia Barocca Lucernensis. She participates regularly in well-known European festivals such as Festival Oude Muziek (Utrecht), Tage Alter Musik (Berlin), and Festival van Vlaanderen (Brugges). Sara is also heard regularly on Dutch radio broadcasts and has recorded two CD’s with the Leipziger Barockorchester for the Mittel-Deutscher-Rundfunk. |
