The German choral conductor, Markus Kaiser, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, USA, majoring in piano and minoring in voice (January 2001-May 2005). Upon returning to Germany, he pursued further studies in music education, specializing in choral conducting at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg (October 2005-October 2019), while simultaneously training as a part-time church musician under Johannes von Hoff (C-level certification, 2007). At the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (HMTMH), he studied children's and youth choir conducting with Professor Friederike Stahmer and Professor Gudrun Schröfel, as well as voice with Professor Markus Schäfer, graduating in 2011 with a Master of Music degree in children's and youth choir conducting (October 2019-April 2022).
Even during his music education studies, Markus Kaiser founded his first choir, with which he performed regularly (ultimately at Classic meets Pop in the EWE Arena). After graduating, he remained affiliated with the HMTMH as an artistic staff member until 2012, when he accepted a position in his hometown of Bremen to establish the Mädchenkantorei am Bremer Dom (Bremen Cathedral Girls' Choir). From 2014 to 2019, he also worked as a lecturer for children's and youth choir conducting at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. |
