The Swiss choir director and music teacher, Anna Wyss Kölbener, graduated with distinction in 2023with Master's degree in Choir Conducting and Music Education II from the Hochschule für Musik Basel, studying under Professor Raphael Immoos. She has received further conducting guidance from Catherine Fender, Frank Markowitsch, and Bjørn Sagstad. She is also deeply involved with the Swiss yodeling tradition, in which she actively participates.
Together with Lea Stadelmann, Anna Kölbener directs the Appenzeller Jugendchor, which they founded. Since 2021, she has co-directed the intercantonal yodeling choir Jugendchor Jutz.ch with Timo Waldmeier, and since February 2024, she has been the conductor of Chorwald. In addition to conducting choirs, she teaches music at the high school, leads courses for the Eidgenössischen Jodelverbands (Swiss Yodeling Association), and sings in various ensembles. |
