The German bass-baritone, Carsten Krüger, graduted in music education, German and performing arts in Hannover and Braunschweig (Brunswick). From 2004 to 2010, he studied singing of early music with Professor Harry van der Kamp and Clemens-Christian Löschmann at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. He supplemented his training as a singer in master-classes and private lessons with Ralf Popken, Gerd Türk, etc.
Carsten Krüger has been involved in various early music ensembles (Weser-Renaissance Bremen, Cantus Thuringia (Director: Bernhard Klapprott), Ensemble Vespree) and a soloist in radio broadcasts, concerts and CD productions. He has performed e.g. the Güldenen Herbst - Festival of Early Music in Thuringia, Bach Biennale Weimar, Heinrich-Schütz-Tagen Dresden und Breslau, under renowned performers of early music such as Ludger Rémy, Manfred Cordes, Bernhard Klapprott, etc. In June 2008, he made his stage debut with Purcell's Dido and Aeneas at the Händelfestspielen Halle, and in 2009 with Cavalli's Didone at the Theater Bremen. Since 2009, he is also a member of the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor under Thomas Hengelbrock, and since 2011 he works as a free-lancer. |
