The Amrican soprano, choral conductor and music educator, Anna C. Lenti, studied at the Aquinas Institute in Rochester, where she was involved with music and theater. In 2005, she won the Rochester Philharmonic League Ranlet Award. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degre in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (2011), where her voice teacher was Cecile Saine; her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College (2013); and her DMA degree from Eastman College at University of Rochester (2022).
Anna Lenti's works as choral conductor, music educator, and soprano embraces a variety of musical genres. She specializes in early music and the works of J.S. Bach. An avid lover of ensemble performance, she has appeared with numerous professional ensembles throughout the USA, including Apollo's Fire (Director: Jeannette Sorrell) in Cleveland, Bach Choir of Holy Trinity (Director: Donald Meineke) in New York City (since 2013; Soprano Section Leader since 2014), Choir of Trinity Wall Street (Director: Julian Wachner) in New York City, TENET (Director: Jolle Greenleaf) in New York City, and Ensemble VIII in Austin, Texas.
Praised by the New York Times for her “beguiling soprano”, Anna Lenti has recently appeared as a soloist in Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria and George Frideric Handel’s Dixit Dominus with Fairfield County Chorale and Orchestra, joined New York Polyphony for a concert of Italian music at the Amherst Early Music Festival, performed for an interdisciplinary installation at the Matthew Barney Art Studio, and appeared as a soloist with TENET on their Michael Praetorius's Vespers program. Anna performs regularly with Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity, Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Choir of St. Luke in the Fields, Clarion Music Ensemble, Sounding Light (Director: Tom Trenney), Manhattan Chorale, Great Music in a Great Space, and Apollo's Fire.
In May 2014, Anna Lenti made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in a premier of a new work by Ola Gjeilo, written for the Manhattan Chorale. She has also appeared as a soloist on the Carnegie Hall stage in Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre for Johannes Brahms' Requiem. She has performed on the professional operatic stage at the Spoleto Festival and the Lincoln Center Festival (Matsukaze).
From 2015 to 2019, Anna Lenti worked as a full-time Upper and Middle School Music Teacher at Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey, where she directed various vocal ensembles and taught courses in general music. She is also a private voice teacher and coach to students ranging from middle school to adulthood. She was the conductor of the Concord Singers, a women’s community chorus located in Summit (2017-2019). As Assistant Conductor of the Oratorio Society of New York (2015-2017), she assisted with the choir’s preparation for its multiple annual concerts at Carnegie Hall and St. John the Divine. She is the co-founder of the project-based ensemble, Ampersand, which has performed premieres and collaborative performance experiences throughout the tristate area and Cleveland. As a graduate student at Westminster Choir College, she was the Graduate Assistant for the renowned Westminster Symphonic Choir. She assisted conductor Joe Miller in preparing the chorus for its multiple performances with major symphony orchestras from around the world. She lead the ensemble in a performance of W.A. Mozart's Requiem with orchestra for her degree recital in 2013.
Since 2022, Anna Lenti is the Lyell B. Clay Artist in Residence and Director of Choral/Vocal Activities at Williams College, where she conducts the Concert Choir and Williams Chamber Choir and teaches courses in vocal technique and choral conducting. Under her direction, the choirs at Williams have maintained an active and exciting performing schedule. In addition to their regular semester performances, the choirs have also performed for numerous community and professional events, including a 2025 collaboration with David Lang and Amy Podmore at Mass MoCA, and a family-friendly concert for students at Williamstown Elementary School in fall of 2023.
