Elias Lien (Bass-Baritone)

Born: 1956 - Washington , USA

The American bass-baritone, Elias Lien, is a graduate of the Cornish School of Music. He was the founding member of The Abbey Church Events chamber music series (now in it's 45th season), sponsored by Saint Martins's Abbey in Lacey, Washington. He has studied voice with Leon Lishner and Aelred Woodard.

Elias Lien often gave recitals at the Abbey and throughout New England and the Midwest, and could be heard as bass soloist singing J.S. Bach's Cantatas, Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 and Mass in B minor BWV 232, as well as L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and Missa Solemnis, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem, Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Haydn's The Seasons and The Creation. He was a member of St. Martin's Abbey from 1976-2004.
