The German bass, Elias Mädler, began his musical career at the age of 5 in the Tölzer Knabenchor, where he enjoyed numerous international successes as a boy soloist in opera and oratorio. From 2013 to 2017 he was a student of Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, the founder of the choir. In 2019 he began singing training with Bernd Valentin at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and has been studying singing in his class since 2021.
More recently Elias Mädler has been involved in a wide variety of projects, including the seven motets Membra Jesu Nostri by Dietrich Buxtehude under the direction of Vittorio Ghielmi, as bass soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem in a production by Jörn Andresen, and as Colline, Benoît and Alcindoro in a student production of Puccini's La bohème in the Kunstquartier Salzburg. The role of Antonio is his second appearance in a university production by Gernot Sahler and Alexander von Pfeil after his appearance as Superintendent Budd in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring in December 2022. In addition to opera, he also works intensively with the song, especially with the composers Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Gustav Mahler and Antonín Dvořák. Since September 2023 he has been a member of the ensemble BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari), which focuses on the performance of J.S. Bach's vocal works and has a lively concert activity in German-speaking countries. |
