The Italian callist and viola da gamba player, Gianni La Marca, has four Conservatory Diplomas, two of which are Second Level Specialist Biennials and two old ones. He graduated in Violoncello with Maestro Mario Centurione and in Viola da gamba with Maestro Paolo Pandolfo. He then specialized in Viola da gamba and ensemble music for early ancient instruments following the courses of Jordi Savall in Italy and Spain and in Baroque cello cco following the courses of Gaetano Nasillo at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In 2006 he obtained the II level Academic Degree in Music Disciplines, Interpretative-Composition, Chamber Music and in 2008 he obtained the II level Academic Diploma in Music Education, enabling him the teaching of the Cello. He has attended more than 15 international courses of musical specialization around the world, and has won 3 international musical interpretation competitions.
Gianni La Marca's concert career began in 1983 and he has held over 1,000 concerts to date, playing music of different genres that include contemporary music, modern music, classical repertoire, Baroque music, Renaissance music and Medieval music. On several occasions, especially in his youth, he also worked in the field of pop music, pop and jazz. He worked for 20 years in various Italian orchestras and has about 20 recorded CD's, of which at least four solo.
Believing, from the age of 16, that every aspect related to music is his main work, Gianni La Marca has attended several professional courses for sound management and processing, also achieving the Diploma of Music Automation Systems Programmer. He also attended several language courses, as well as obtained the "Oracle" certification and various IT qualifications. With the skills acquired, next to the profession of musician, never interrupted for a single day until today, since 1998 he has also opened a professional recording studio with which he made many recordings both live and in the studio. Since 2012 he is the owner and artistic and technical director of a record label that deals mainly with early music and classical music.
For at least ten years Gianni La Marca has taught teaching in conservatories in different positions. I taught Viola da gamba in the Conservatories of Latina, Lecce and Bari and Violoncello in some music-oriented schools. |
