The Catalan tenor, Ferran Mitjans Campmany, studied Physiotherapy at the UManresa-Fundació Universitària del Bages (FUB) (2013-2017) together with his professional studies in Cello at Conservatorio Municipal de Música de Barcelona (2009-2013) and Singing at the Conservatori de Liceu (2015-2016).
In 2005 Ferran Mitjans became part of the Escolania de Montserrat, where he recorded three CD's (El nostre Nadal, P. Miquel López and Officium Hebdomadae Sanctae), playing solo roles in both last. In 2011 he joined the Cor Jove de l’Orfeó Català where he starred as soloist in the productions of H. Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (2013 and 2015), J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) (2015), George Frideric Handel's Messiah (2016 and 2017) and Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard (2017). He has participated in choral and solo collaborations with the Cor Jove dels Països Catalans, Cor ArsinNova and Cor Francesc Valls. He is professional singer at Palau de la Música Catalana since December 2018. He is also a member of Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall) and Bach Collegium Barcelona (Director: Pau Jorquera). |
