NCRV Vocaal Ensemble (Vocal Ensemble)

The NCRV Vocaal Ensemble was a prominent Dutch vocal choir founded by the Nederlandse Christelijke Radio Vereniging (NCRV), a Christian radio broadcaster which existed from 1924 to 2018. The ensemble was founded in 1955 by conductor Marinus Voorberg and directed by him for many years, After him the ensemble was directed by Rudolf Grasman. the ensemble recorded highly acclaimed classical performances spanning Renaissance, Baroque, and Modern eras. The ensemble is notably recognized for its historic 1970 radio recording of Frank Martin's Mass for Double Choir, produced in the presence of the composer. The ensemble specialized in a cappella and sacred vocal music, frequently collaborating on broadcasts for the omroep (Dutch public broadcasting), and left a rich catalog of recorded works.

The NCRV and the ensemble operated until 2018. After the NCRV Vocaal Ensemble was dissolved by the NCRV, Rudolf Grasman continued this choir under the name Nederlands Vocaal Ensemble.
