Internationally acclaimed pianist, Polina Osetinskaya, began her career at the age of five and was soon acclaimed as a wunderkind in the former Soviet Union. She gave her first concert at the age of 6 and entered the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory at the age of 7. The first teacher of Polina Osetinskaya was her father Oleg Osetinsky, then she continued her studies at the Leningrad Conservatory with Marina Wolf and later at the Moscow Conservatory with Vera Gornostaeva.
Polina Osetinskaya has performed at New York City's Carnegie Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Barbican Centre, Rome’s Teatro Argentina, as well as in Italy, Russia, Germany, Poland, the USA and Israel. She also appears at festivals in Europe, Russia, and the USA.
Polina Osetinskaya has appeared with the Musica Aeterna Bratislava, Mariinsky Orchestra, Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia "Evgeny Svetlanov", and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. On stage partners have included Gerd Albrecht, Andrey Boreyko, Teodor Currentzis, Dmitry Liss, Julian Milkis, Laurent Petitgirard, Ksenia Rappoport, Thomas Sanderling, Vassily Sinaisky, Alexander Sladkovsky, Vladimir Spivakov, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Maxim Vengerov. She has released recordings with the Quartz, Naxos, Sony Music, Bel-Aire, and Melodiya labels.
In 2021,the premieres of two musical performances with the articipation of Polina Osetinskaya took place, in one of them she made her debut as a dramatic actress. Her autobiography Farewell, Sadness - an account of her wunderkind years - is a bestseller. This season she will perform with Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and National Chamber Orchestra of Moldova. In the 2023-2024 season, she makes a number of her solo debuts at the Berlin Philharmonic, in London, in Laeiszhalle in J.S. Bach's concerts without a conductor. She also performs in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, Cyprus, the USA and South America. During the tours in both America’s she returns to Carnegie Hall with the duo recital with Maxim Vengerov.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Polina Osetinskaya has repeatedly expressed her pacifist position. In this regard, her concerts in Russia were canceled by the government. |
