The Presto Chamber Ensemble (Hungarian: Presto Kamaraegyüttes) was formed in 2008 in Budapest by professional musicians who graduated from a music college and cosists of: flute, two violins, viola, cello and piano. The leader of the group is Krisztina Weidemann-Tóth. They can expand the ensemble with additional musicians upon request, and they also accept requests for smaller ensembles (duo, trio, string quartet...).
The ensemble continuously performs in Hungary (e.g. in the Palace of Arts , the Jáki Chapel in Vajdahunyad Castle, the Óbuda Society, the Király, Gellért and Lukács Baths, the National Foreign Language Library, various churches, youth and cultural centers, schools, etc.) and abroad. Their primarily classical music repertoire is constantly expanding, sometimes they collaborate with choirs, singers, various instrumental guest artists or even "row into the waters of pop music ". The also organize educational musical performances combined with screenings, e.g. in connection with important anniversaries (Chopin, Erkel anniversary). They also work with contemporary composers (e.g. works written for the ensemble by András Derecskei, Gergely Barta, Pál Rózsa). |
