The Polish pianist, Andrzej Ratusiński, studied at the Chopin Musikakademie in Warsaw. He continued his studies with Jorge Bolet, Arthur Rubinstein and Vladimir Horowitz. He won prizes and honours at the International Competitions “Busoni” in Bolzano in 1973 and “Tchaikovsky” in Moscow in 1974.
Andrzej Ratusiński has appeared with L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Wiener Symphoniker, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Basel, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and Berliner Philharmoniker, among others. As soloist and demanded chamber music partner he played at “Pablo Casals” Festival in Puerto Rico, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, and Berliner Festwochen, among others. The empahsis of his repertoire are the works of J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, L.v. Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Sergei Rachmaninov and Prokofieff, beside the works of Polish composers from Frédéric Chopin to Lutoslawski and Penderecki. |
