Erica Rompianesi (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: 1986 - Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy

The Italian mezzo-soprano and vocal coach, Erica Rompianesi, was part of the Cappella Musicale del Duomo di Modena from 1999 to 2022. Since 2022 she has been the leader of the alto section of the Schola Polifonica di Modena Musica Sacra. In this context, in addition to teaching the youth sections, she performs solo parts of works including: Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, Nisi Dominus and Magnificat; Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater; J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232, Magnificat in D major BWV 243 and Matthäus-Passion BWV 244; W.A. Mozart's Coronation Mass and Vesperae Solemnes de Confessore; F. Schubert's Magnificat; Charpentier's Te Deum; and Camille Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël.

Erica Rompianesi obtained her Daiploma from Liceo Scientifico Wiligelmo in Modena (2001-2005). She attended the three-year first level course in singing at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Vecchi-Tonelli in Modena, where she studied Voice and Opera (2006-2013). Here, with the Accademia degli Impossibili, she debuted in the role of Belona in the Baroque opera La purpura de la rosa by Calderòn/Torrejòn (September 2009) and in that of Arsenio/Alberto in the sacred drama Li prodigi della divina gratia in the conversion and death of S. Guglielmo, Duca d’Aquitania by G.B. Pergolesi (July 2011). In the autumn of 2011, she was in the ranks of the Coro Lirico delle Terre Verdiane, and brought to the stages of Piacenza, Bolzano and Modena, Charles Gounod's opera Roméo et Juliette and G. Verdi's opera I Lombardi alla prima crociata. In December 2012, on the occasion of the Estense music festival “Grandezze e Meraviglie”, she played he role of Marta in G. Bononcini's oratorio La conversione di Maddalena.

Since 2013, Erica Rompianesi has been co-founder of Ensemble Coranto, with which she has created several musical projects including Donizetti's Il campanello. She has also been section leader of Pueri e Juvenes Cantores and of Propedeutica.

Erica Rompianesi teaches singing at Scuola di Musica del Duomo di Modena (since September 2009).
