The Spanish conductor and trumpete, Rubén Simó Llàcer, began his musical training at the age of 5 in Sociedad Musical de Picassent. He studied at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Torrent (Class of 2011) with Professor Miguel Cerezo, obtaining the Professional Prize and 2nd prize in the 11th Edition of Premio de Interpretación Musical "Vicent Galbis". He completed his higher studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (Clas of 2015) under the tutelage of Germán Asensi and Enrique Rioja. He has participated in numerous courses and master-classes with prestigious trumpet players such as Gabor Tarkövi, Max Sommerhalder, Andrea Lucchi, Hannes Läubin, Martin Angerer, Luís González, Tierry Caens, Edward H. Tarr, Frits Damrow, Hannes Rux, Rudi Korp, and Reinhold Friedrich, among others. He has a Master's degree in Musical Performance from the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX) and a postgraduate degree from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome (Class of 2019).
Rubén Simo has played in orchestras such as the Orquesta Sinfónica Freixenet de la Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, Orquesta R.T.V.E., Sommer Oper Bamberg, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (July-August 2013), Zakhar Bron Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome) (2015-2020), Orquestra de València (OV), etc.
Rubén Simo was a trumpet player with the Orquesta Filarmónica de la Universidad de Valencia (OFUV) from 2009 to 2013 and with the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (JORCAM) from 2012 to 2017. He has been principal trumpet of the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia (Madrid) since 2015. In March 2014, he founded the “Camerata Händel,” performing primarily works from the Baroque and Classical periods. In 2015, he won the Concurso de Cámara de la JORCAM with his brass quintet, “Artfort Brass.”
Rubén Simo was Trumpet Professor at the Curso Internacional “Eduardo Ocón” en Mollina (Málaga) in 2016 and 2017. He played with Orquesta de Ara Malikian on their 2015 tour of Spain and recorded as a musician for the film Historia Antigua del CINE ESPAÑA by Pedro Burgos Barrantes. He currently lives in Valencia, Carabobo. |
