Larry Sledge (Choral Conductor)

Born: February 1943 - Naples, Florida, USA

The American choral conductor, Larry Sledge (Larry J. Sledge, Lawrence J, Sledge), has served as Director of the Lakeland Choral Society, leading this 80-voice chorus in the preparation and performance of many of the masterworks of choral literature. He also served as Director of Choral Activities at Florida Southern College. He is highly regarded by his peers in higher education, yet donates hundreds of hours each year to his work with the Choral Society. An encouraging and enthusiastic leader, he is nonetheless deeply committed to his efforts to bring forth the very best from his singers. Ever the educator, he imparts to the members of the Choral Society a broad understanding of and appreciation for the music they perform. Currently (2023-2024), he is Director of Bach Festival of Central Florida Chorus & Orchestra. He currently lives in Lakeland, Florida.
