Krista Steinour (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: December 24, ____ - Clemmons, North Carolina, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, music therapist and music teacher, Krista Steinour, obtained her vocal certificate and Bachelor of Music degree degree in Music Therapy from Appalachian State University.

Krista Steinour is a rich-voiced mezzo soprano. She has over twenty years experience of being involved with rigorous choirs such as The Susquehanna Chorale in Pennsylvania and Bel Canto in North Carolina. She currently enjoys singing with First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem and with the Winston-Salem Choral Artists (Director: Christopher Gilliam). In addition to choral singing, she also has a history of performing with local theaters including Little Theater and Theater Alliance. She has done shows such as Kiss Me, Kate, Something Rotten, and The Music Man, and played Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

After graduating, Krista Steinour practiced as a board certified music therapist in Georgia, Pennsylvania and California, including Music Therapy Intern at Fulton County Schools Atlanta, Georgia (September 2015-April 2016), Arts Specialist/Music Therapist at Camp Krem in Boulder Creek, California (May-September 2016). Since then, she has since fallen in love with teaching. She is passionate about using her background to support students of all learning types. She is Lead Music Instructor at Creative Drama Children's Theater (since January 2020), teaches both classical and musical theater voice at the Community Music School at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) and loves to teach new students. She recently opened her own studio entitled Music Matters and feels passionately about using her background to support students of all learning types.

Krista Steinour married Robby Steinour on November 23, 2019 and they live in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. When she isn’t performing, teaching, or rehearsing, she loves to play with her two cats and travel with her partner, Robby.
