The American tenor, Robert Strebendt, holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the Yale School of Music. He completed a D.M.A. degree in choral conducting at the University of Georgia (2018-2021).
Robert Strebendt is a multifaceted musician focused in conducting, education, singing and composition As a conductor, Robert serves as the director of choral activities at the Ravenscroft School. He has conducted numerous ensembles throughout New England and has served on the faculties at Yale University, Wesleyan University, and the Hopkins School.
Praised for his “fine lyric” tone, Robert Strebendt is an nationally sought-after tenor whose collaborators are top American vocal ensembles including the Kinnara Ensemble, Yale Choral Artists, and the three-time GRAMMY-nominated ensemble Seraphic Fire (Director: Patrick Dupré Quigley). Locally, he performs with the Raleigh Camerata (Director: Kelly Nivison), Voices of a New Renaissance, and the Duke University Chapel Vespers Ensemble.
He has sung under the direction of notable conductors such as Simon Carrington, Masaaki Suzuki, David Hill, Helmuth Rilling and Marin Alsop.
