The Polish conductor and organist, Andrzej Szadejko, obtained his Master of Arts degree in organ music from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw under Joachim Grubich (1993-1998); his Master of Arts in Early Music from Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel under Jean-Claude Zehnder (1998-2002); his Doctor of Art in organ music from Akademia Muzyczna im. Grażyny i Kiejstuta Bacewiczów in Łodz (2002); and his habilitation in organ music from Akademia Muzyczna im. I.J. Paderewskiego in Poznan (2012). He received diplomas with honour in organ music. He also studied singing under Richard Lewitt and composition under Rudolf Lutz. Other important teachers were Andrea Marcon (harpsichord) and Gottfried Bach (basso continuo). He took part in many master-classes and interpretations courses in Poland, Germany, Switzerland and Holland. He is the finalist and prize-winner of many International Organ Competitions (Warsaw, Gdansk, Odense-Final, Brugge-distinction).
Andrzej Szadejko has given concerts in Poland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. He is Artistic Director of Festival of Young Organists and Singers in Bydgoszcz and Leader of Goldberg Baroque Ensemble - vocal and instrumental Baroque players.
Since October 2005, Andrzej Szadejko has been teaching organ music and basso continuo in Gdansk Music Academy, Poland. He seves as Guest Professor for interpretation course in Oulu/Finland in 2006. He leads a project of a reconstruction of historical Merten Friese organ in Trinity Church in Gdańsk. Since 2008, he is also Artistic Director of the Project of Science Bibliotheque of Gdansk - Reediting and recording of musical manuscripts from bibliotheques of Gdansk.
