The Japanese baritone, Atsushi Takemura, graduated from the Vocal Music Department of the Kunitachi College of Music. He studied in the Opera and Operetta class at the Vienna School of the Arts. He studied under Yasutomo Nozaki, Hugh Beresford, and Teodore Collesi. He passed the NHK Western Music Audition and the Vienna Art Cor Audition; won the Best Newcomer Award at the International Federation of Arts Newcomer Audition, the Excellence Award at the All Japan Soloist Contest, and other international competitions. He studied in Austria in 1998.
Atsushi Takemura has been active both at home and abroad since returning to Japan in 2008.
