In 2015, Ad van Sleuwen came up with the idea of starting a baroque ensemble with only wind instruments. Together with his wife Fien van Dingenen (recorder) and good friends Willemijn van Baar (transverse flute) and Stephan van der Maas (Baroque oboe), a start was made with Venti Musicali. Small concerts were given and the repertoire was slowly expanded.
In order to be able to add some more diversity to the program, the ensemble was strengthened with a singer, Catherine Hawkins (after all, a singing voice is also driven by air). In order to get some more body in the bass side, the ensemble was supplemented with a bassoon in the person of Jac van Trier. Many concerts have already been given in this composition.
Since 2022, the ensemble has been expanded with an additional oboist, Adrie van Beurden, which makes the possibilities for presenting a very varied program very diverse. For example, there is now a whole program with French or Italian Baroque music.
Since October 2023, Silvia Schildkamp has temporarily taken over from Jac van Trier on the Baroque bassoon. They have found a very worthy replacement in her and are happy that she wants to do this. She has a lot of concert experience on both the modern bassoon and now also on the baroque bassoon |
