The Kammerchor Vox Quadrata was founded by Tristan Meister in Mannheim in 2015. Depending on the requirements of the repertoire, the ensemble consists of up to 60 semi-professional singers from the Rhine-Neckar region and beyond, who come together for project-related choir and concert weekends. The choir regularly performs concerts in Mannheim. Invitations have also been made to perform at the Weilburger Schlosskonzerten and the Abu-Gosh Music Festival in Tel Aviv.
The choir's repertoire includes demanding a-cappella literature from all eras, with a particular focus on Romantic and modern music. The choir has also performed with the der Deutschen Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz and the Saarländischen Staatsorchester. Conductor Tristan Meister is committed to performing rarely heard works. This is demonstrated by the first recordings of works by the Worms composer Friedrich Gernsheim (»Gernsheim – Hafis op. 56 / Works for Mixed Choir«) and previously unknown works for male choir and orchestra by Max Reger (»Max Reger – Das Werk für Männerchor, Vol. 3«).
Vox Quadrata is a member of the Verband Deutscher Konzertchöre (VDKC).
