The Englisgh counter-tenor, Colin Wilson, has singing for 50 years, initially as a chorister and then as Choral Scholar at Magdalen College Oxford, and as a Songman at York Minster. While at Magdalen he was head chorister for two years under Dr Bernard Rose, singing solos and making several records, and also spent several years as a counter-tenor, taught by Kevin Smith.
As a counter-tenor, Colin Wilson has performed solo recitals in Oxford, York and, more recently, Truro and Penzance, and now sings daily services at Truro Cathedral as an alto Lay Vicar of Truro Cathedral Choir. Notable solo performances include all J.S. Bach's alto cantatas at Truro Cathedral and St Mary’s Penzance. He performed J.S. Bach's Lukas-Passion BWV 246 on March 16, 2019 at Truro Cathedral and J.S. Bach's Cantata Widerstehe doch der Sünde, BWV 54 on March 30, 2019 at St Mary’s Penzance.
