The German organist and musicologist, Hernann Keller, studied with Max Reger (composition), Karl Straube (organ), and Teichmüller (piano), then musicology at the University of Tübingen (Ph.D., 1924, with the dissertation Die musikalische Artikulation insbesondere bei Joh. Seb. Bach; published in Stuttgart, 1925).
Hernann Keller held various posts as organist. From 1919, he taught at the Stuttgart Hochschule für Musik; was director of its church and school music department (from 1928) and then director (1946-1952). |
