David Earl Moyer was a professor of piano at Oberlin College and student of Ferruccio Busoni and Ernst von Dohnanyi. His wife, Jessie Moyer, was a singer, his son was a trombonist and a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 35 years, and his grandson is the pianist Frederick Moyer. The composer George Walker (b 1922) was his pupil at Oberlin in the late 1930’s. |
