Francis Browne wrote (February 9, 2002):
Òn Sunday February10th at 21.45 to 23.00 GMT BBC Radio 3 UK is broadcasting a performance of Bach's Partitas 3,5 and 6 that Andras Schiff gave at the Edinburgh Festival in 1999. Since Radio 3 is available on the internet, this may be of interest to members of the list outside the UK.
(Having joined the BRML very recently I am not entirely sure whether this is a suitable message. I know that I myself would appreciate information about any broadcast performances of Bach's incomparable music that could be heard via the internet. If there is a more suitable place to give and receive such information, I would be grateful for the address. )
I am finding the BRML and the BCML both valuable and entertaining. It is a delight to think of people otherwise so different throughout the world sharing their love of Bach's music. The judicious and perceptive reviews of Don Satz and others are invaluable in exploring Bach's music and Aryeh Oron's Cantata website is a wonderful idea splendidly realised.
Thank you to all. |
Michael Grover wrote (February 11, 2002):
[Francis Browne] This is a perfect place for such announcements and information. I think a great number of us are interested in internet broadcasts of Bach's music, and indeed of reports of ANY broadcasts or performances of any sort, whether they are widely available or not. This is indeed the Bach "Recordings" mailing list, but we go far afield of recordings sometimes. Just as long as Bach is involved somehow! |
