The German soprano, Verena Gropper, studied at the Mannheim Schulmusik und Germanistik. This was followed by her specialization in early music through studies of singing and in Graz and most recently in Frankfurt am Main as part of the degree program in historical interpretation with Henriette Meyer-Ravenstein (singing) and Michael Schneider (chamber music). More vocal and artistic inspiration she received through training, collaboration, and master-classes with Sibylla Rubens, Peter Kooy, Kai Wessel, Jill Feldman and Monika Mauch. She is the winner of the Internationalen Gebrüder-Graun-Wettbewerbs 2009.
As a soloist, Verena Gropper, among other works currently with Ton Koopman and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Cantus Cölln, Musica Fiata / La Capella Ducale, La Stagione Frankfurt, Le Concert Lorrain, Mannheimer Hofkapelle, and Il delirio fantastico. She has a particularly closely collaboration with the conductors Hermann Max and Michael Schneider, with whom she has performed very regularly and participated in CD productions. She has already participated in such music festivals as the Tagen Alter Musik Herne, Bachfest Leipzig, Thüringer Bachwochen, Rheingau Musikfestival, Händel-Festspielen Halle and MDR Musiksommer.
In addition to her own Frankfurter Madrigalensemble Teatro del Mondo (Musical Director: Andreas Küppers), devoted to vocal music from the 17th century, Verena Gropper sings with other vocal ensembles such as the Orlando di Lasso Ensemble and the Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble.
In 2013, appeared recordings of Cantatas by Dietrich Buxtehude (Ton Koopman and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra) and Bach Cantatas (Roland Wilson, Musica Fiata). |
