The American pianist, Loretta Mento, received a Bachelor of Music degree from Rowan University, where she studied piano with Steven Romanio. Upon graduation, she worked with Edith Hirshtel-Nathas, a celebrated student of Leon Fleisher. She received a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from the University of South Carolina, where she continued her studies with John Adams and Charles Fugo. She studied with Annie Petit and Seymour Lipkin of the Curtis Institute and the Juilliard School, respectively. She has also studied composition with Dr. Richard Goodwinn of the University of South Carolina and has written numerous works for solo piano and ensemble.
Loretta Mento is a member of Duo Mento, formed in 2002 with her brother Dr. Steven Mento to perform four-hand literature. She is represented by Prestige Agency Artist Management, LLC. |
