The Neue Chorgemeinschaft Vaterstetten (= NCV) is currently a choir of about 65 singers who repeatedly challenge unconventional ways away from the usual concert business.
The choir has developed in the Ebersberg region and beyond a reputation for discovering a treasure of rarities, which have rarely or never been heard in the concert hall. Particular highlights of the concerts are performances of operas, such as Dido and Aeneas by Purcell (1998), Acis and Galatea by George Frideric Handel (2000), and Proserpina by Kraus (2003), and in the fall of 2005 a very successful performance of the secular oratorio Semele by G.F. Handel. But even great known works as Messiah by G.F. Handel or Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach are always on the programme.
The choir director, Konstantin Köppelmann, with whom they work together since the choir's creation, places special emphasis on performances of his work in historical performance practice. In December 2006, they performed the first three cantatas of the Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach, together with the Baroque ensemble "Sans-Souci", which plays only on period instruments.
In 2006, the choir had an exhibition in the City Hall, an intimate celebration and publication of a commemorative publication celebrating its 10th anniversary and look forward to the next decade of joint musical work. |
