The German composer, conductor and music pedagogue, Fritz Christian Gerhard, studied at the Kölner Musikhochschule under Phillip Jamach, Heinrich Lemacher und Otto Siegel.
After his studies, Fritz Christian Gerhard worked alongside his work as a teacher at a Rudolf-Steiner-Schule as a choir director and as assistant director of the Wuppertal Opera. In 1952, he was awarded the Heydt-Kulturpreis (Culture Prize) of the city of Wuppertal.
