The Austran Baasroqu oboe and recoder player, Elisabeth Baumer, studied Baroque oboe with Paolo Grazzi at the Civica Scuola di Milano and the Conservatorio F. E. dall'Abaco in Verona, with Andrea Mion at the Istituto Briccialdi in Terni, and with Marie Wolf at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien. She also studied recorder with a focus on music theory with Rahel Stoellger at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien. She completed all her diploma and concert examinations with distinction.
In 2004, Elisabeth Baumer was selected as an oboist for the European Union Baroque Orchestra under Lars Ulrik Mortensen. Her intensive artistic activity is reflected in her long-standing participation with numerous orchestras and ensembles on the international early music scene. Since 2004, she has performed as principal oboe with the Accademia Bizantina, one of the world's leading baroque orchestras, based in Ravenna. Elisabeth Baumer was profoundly influenced by the exceptionally profound and analytical understanding of music conducted by Ottavio Dantone. She is also a member of Concerto Stella Matutina (Director: Alfredo Bernardini), Bach Consort Wien (Director: Rubén Dubrovsky), Capella Leopoldina (Director: Jörg Zwicker), Barucco, and the Bach-Kantaten Abonnement-Zyklus at Wiener Konzerthaus with Ensemble Claudiana under Luca Pianca & Georg Nigl.
Elisabeth Baumer also regularly collaborates with Barokkanerne Oslo, Concentus Musicus Wien (Director: Nikolaus Harnoncourt/Stefan Gottfried), and the L'Orfeo Barockorchester and Wind Ensemble (Director: Michi Gaigg/Carin van Heerden). She also collaborates with Les Musiciens du Louvre (Director: Marc Minkowski), Orquestra Divino Sospiro Lisbon (Director: Enrico Onofri), La Risonanza (Director: Fabio Bonizzoni), Academia Montis Regalis (Director: Alessandro De Marchi), and Il Pomo d'Oro (Director: Maxim Emelyanychev), and Harmony of Nations (Director: Laurence Cummings).
Elisabeth Baumer has performed in major concert halls throughout Europe, South America, and Asia, as well as numerous CD recordings, including: Her artistic work is rounded out by collaborations with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Claudio Abbado.
Elisabeth Baumer has extensive teaching experience at universities (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz, Kärntner Landeskonservatorium) and in various master-classes
(Austria Barock Akademie). She currently lives in Vienna, Austria. |
