Jörg Ulrich Busch (Choral Conductor, Organ)

Born: 1973 - Basel, Switzerland

The Swiss choral conductor anbd organist, Jörg Ulrich Busch, studied organ at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern with Heinz Balli (1993-2001) and completed his studies with the soloist diploma. From 2004 to 2007 he received organ lessons from Marie-Claire Alain in Paris. From 2009 he studied choir and orchestra conducting with Professor Markus Utz at the Hochschule der Künste Zürich, which he successfully completed in January 2013 with the Master of Advanced Studies in choral conducting. He attended master-classes with Michael Radulescu, Harald Vogel, Jon Laukvik, Hans Davidson and Bernhard Haas.

In November 2008 Jörg Ulrich Busch was elected organist, choirmaster and artistic director of "Musik im Fraumünster" at the Fraumünster in Zürich. He is also the director of the vocal ensemble Belcanto Bern (since 1998) and the Cantate-Chor Bolligen (since 2005), as well as founder, conductor and harpsichordist of the Baroque orchestra Le Buisson Prospérant (since 1999). He currently lives in Bern, Switzerland.
