The German choral conductor and church musician, Christian Pfeifer, studied church music in Heidelberg and worked after his studies, initially as assistant to the country Kantor in Mannheim. Courses in the field of early music for organ, harpsichord and conducting brought him into contact with Ludger Lohmann, Philippe Herreweghe and John Eliot Gardiner. His interest in new music was created in collaboration on projects under the direction of Walter Nussbaum in Heidelberg.
Since 1993 Christian Pfeifer works as Kantor and church musician at the Bergkirche in Wiesbaden, director of the Kantorei der Bergkirche and is artistic director of the local concert series. In 1993 he also founded the chamber orchestra Capella Montana. In addition to the choral and orchestral concerts with the choir, another focus of his work is in chamber music. |
